Netflix isn't the first place you go to watch music videos. As the company has ramped up its film and TV operations in recent years, producing an enormous stockpile of original movies and episodic series of varying lengths, it's shown less interest in creating the type of short, punchy experiments that used to play all day on MTV and VH1. In the streaming wars, the company has largely left music to YouTube, besides the occasional prestige-y behind-the-scenes or concert documentary like Beyonce's Homecoming , the Bruce Springsteen Broadway show, or the recent Martin Scorsese-directed Bob Dylan documentary. A search for "music videos" on Netflix turns up a collection of four videos made for Bright , that terrible Will Smith movie from a couple years ago.
Have Paul Thomas Anderson and Thom Yorke collaborated before?
Thom Yorke released his new solo album, Anima , and with it a new music video directed by Paul Thomas Anderson. A one-reeler was usually around 10 minutes long. It would, however, be misleading to see this film as a reworking of a silent film. But this is more a film of contemporary dance, choreographed cinematically. Yorke stars himself as the protagonist in the film. In the rest of the film, Yorke endeavors to catch up with the young woman, played by the Italian actress Dajana Roncione. The second movement is visually stunning. Yorke steps out of the subway into some cavernous alleyway, shot at the museum of Les Baux-de-Provence in France, in which images are projected onto its walls.
It was produced by Yorke's longtime collaborator Nigel Godrich , and developed through live performances and studio work. Following the album release, Yorke embarked on an international tour. Yorke wrote Anima following a period of writer's block and anxiety. Yorke would send Godrich "sprawling" unfinished tracks and Godrich would edit the tracks into shorter samples and loops, which Yorke wrote vocals to. Anima comprises electronic music with "layers of electronic fuzz and deconstructed noise". Yorke said its themes include anxiety and dystopia : "For some reason I thought a really good way of expressing anxiety creatively was in a dystopian environment. Anima' s music has been described as "full of wraithlike frequencies and fibrillating pulses". Anima was promoted with a viral marketing campaign.
I guess if u believe an angel with a sword really did force Joseph Smith to marry those girls. They are just really convinced they are right. This also means giving her something specific to do. What would your relationship look like if you were to marry.
